Pete Crow-Armstrong currently ranks third in the National League, with only Shohei Ohtani and Freddie Freeman receiving more votes. Crow-Armstrong ranks fourth in fWAR in MLB, with only Aaron Judge, Cal Raleigh, and Ohtani having more. He leads all NL outfielders by a wide margin, with a familiar face trailing him. Kyle Tucker, who has a 149 wRC+ on the season, is in second place. Ian Happ made the list, although odds are he won’t make the cut.

Carson Kelly is the second catcher, over 800,000 votes below Will Smith. Kelly had a 261 wRC+ through the end of April, making him easily one of the best hitters in baseball. Since then, his wRC+ of 57 and .248 wOBA are less than impressive. Either way, his hot start could have him on pace for a trip to Atlanta.

Michael Busch, Nico Hoerner, Matt Shaw, Dansby Swanson, and Seiya Suzuki are all top 5 in their respective positions’ voting, but none will win a spot unless something changes dramatically. Suzuki would have been in second place, but the shocking Rafael Devers trade that sent the slugging DH to the National League moved the Cub down a spot.

Shaw’s current ranking of fourth stands out, especially because he’s spent a decent portion of this season in the minor leagues. Busch is also above Bryce Harper, something I would have never predicted.

It’s not shocking that the Cubs are so well represented in the All-Star voting; they are one of the best teams in baseball with a strong record and numerous statistics to back that claim up. There’s still plenty of time to change the leaderboards, so make sure you vote for your favorite Cubs every day!
