Jameson Taillon will have a chance to lower his 21.60 spring ERA as he makes his second start, this time against the Rockies. Not that his ERA should actually concern anyone, mind you. The most important thing is that he’s able to stretch out to around 40 pitches or so with no health concerns. Beyond that, he could give up 12 runs by throwing nothing but piped fastballs. The … [Read more...] about Chicago Cubs Lineup (2/25/26): Fairly Regular Lineup, Taillon Tossing
Chicago Cubs Lineup (2/24/26): Busch Leads Off, Shaw at 3B, Imanaga on Mound
The Cubs are back in action on Tuesday to follow their first win of the Cactus League season with another game, this one at home, that features no home broadcast. There will be no TV coverage from either side, but there is apparently SD Audio from the Padres. Cool. Chicago Cubs Lineup (2/23/26): PCA Batting Leadoff, Prospects Galore, Brown Starting
Maybe don’t start this one off with a triple play, huh? That wild flub would have been more fitting since the Cubs are in Surprise to take on the Royals today, but maybe the surprise will be that they actually win the game. More of the Cubs’ starters saw their first action of the spring when they hosted the Rangers at Sloan Park Saturday afternoon. They came up just short in a low-scoring contest that was lacking much action. Matthew Boyd made his first start of the spring and allowed a 2nd-inning run on a single by Sam Haggerty after Pete Crow-Armstrong lost a Tyler Wade fly ball in the high … [Read more...] about Chicago Cubs Score and Recap (2/21/26): Rangers 3, Cubs 2 – Boyd Makes First Spring Appearance
Chicago Cubs Lineup (2/22/26): Shaw at 2B, Bregman 3B, Rae Vs Ray on Sunday
The Cubs have lost both Cactus League games so far, and they’ve lost fly balls in the sun each time. At this rate, they may end up setting a new record for futility. How’s that for an early overreaction? They’ll get rolling at some point, maybe even this afternoon. I don’t care a lick about their record, but it would be nice to see some more offense. To that end, it’s been nice … [Read more...] about Chicago Cubs Lineup (2/22/26): Shaw at 2B, Bregman 3B, Rae Vs Ray on Sunday
