Elgin to install EV charging stations at The Highlands, Bowes Creek
Two EV chargers each will be installed at Bowes Creek Country Club and at The Highlands of Elgin golf course, according to the city’s website.
The locations were selected due to their popularity, high visitor traffic and longer average stays, making them ideal for Level 2 chargers, which provide 20 to 30 miles of range per hour of charging, the site said. Each charger will have ports for two vehicles.
Elgin previously installed four public chargers with a total of eight ports in the parking deck that serves the Robert Gilliam Municipal Complex and the Centre of Elgin.
With the new chargers in place by the end of 2025, Elgin’s public network will total 16 charging ports.
