I like gold?
There’s no June swoon for Notre Dame football news — only June challenges. There’s some stuff going on, so let’s pull out the triple option.
GOLF SUMMIT
Notre Dame athletic director, Pete Bevacqua, and SEC Commissioner Greg Sankey went golfing with President Trump — but you already know that. What you don’t know is what was said between the president and two of the most powerful figures in college athletics — and we may never know. Get the screenplay ready, Oliver Stone.
Greg Sankey confirms that he and ND AD Pete Bevacqua played golf with Prez Trump Sunday. Says it was “Helpful to hear his thoughts and perspectives (on the state of college sports), and to share ours.” He said the details of the conversation are “best left on the golf course.”

HEISMAN LOVE
It feels like a long, long time since we started a college football season with a fully full-on Heisman campaign for a Notre Dame football player. By that — I mean the player, the school, and the media combining forces to hype it all up. Wait no more, because it’s 100% on for Irish running back Jeremiyah Love.
Notre Dame RB Jeremiyah Love is eyeing the Heisman Trophy, he tells @PeteNakos_
“I just want to go out there and win it. That’s a long time, 10 years ago [since a running back won the Heisman]. But maybe this year, I’ll have to make it plus one.”https://t.co/ySFwieRke9 pic.twitter.com/XcNulenz3K

A COMEDIAN
I love Leonard Moore and I think he’s one of the absolute best cornerbacks in the nation. Do you know who loves him more than me? Former Notre Dame running back Jonas Gray, who tweeted out some love for Moore as it concerned his coverage of Ohio State WR Jeremiah Smith in the national championship game — and he’s taking some heat for it.
He actually strapped up Jeremiah Smith in the Natty, but people aren’t ready to have that conversation yet. https://t.co/L98oomN7uI

BONDED WARRIORS
My greatest hope as it pertains to any conversations Michael Mayer and Pete Carroll have during their time together with the Las Vegas Raiders isn’t about their record or accomplishments in the Battle for the Jeweled Shillelagh — but about how much of a coward Lincoln Riley is. I mean… you just know Carroll is shaking his head nonstop about just how weak in body and spirit the Trojans have become since he left.
