OH BRO
The Notre Dame football roster is full of great players — known and unknown. No matter the place on the depth chart or the recruiting ranking a player had attached to him before his arrival at Notre Dame — there are probably some things I really like about him. So over the course of the next few months, let’s take a positive approach to running down the roster.
Almost daily (just being honest) I’ll list three things I like about a single player on the roster, and as an additional bonus, I’ll post some extra pics over on the OFD Instagram account (be sure to follow RIGHT HERE).

#13 Ben Minich — Safety
Ben Minich is an interesting prospect. The 6’0” 195 pound junior from Lakota West High School in West Chester, Ohio, didn’t have a huge basket full of elite offers from around the country — despite being an overall Top 250 prospect. The Irish and Oklahoma Sooners both offered in the summer, and Notre Dame won the playmaker’s services.
Three things I like about Ben Minich:
1. He’s from Ohio.
Surprise! Of course I love that Minich is from Ohio. He’s the same type of athlete that I remember went to Ohio State and after three or four years in the system, he became a vital part of the defense and the team.
Ben Minich is Notre Dame’s fastest player according to @EACollegeFB25. Who would’ve thought it?
97 speed for the safety from West Chester, Ohio.

2. He adds to the warm fuzzy blanket of depth.
Notre Dame has an immense amount of talent in the defensive backfield. Not only that — but the coaching staff has continually shown how well they do their jobs as it pertains to development. Minich adds to what I am starting to call the “no worry depth chart” because he’s one of a handful of players at safety that can play ball.

3. He has a 4th dimension intangible.
This may only pertain to me… but his last name is one of my favorite roads outside of Fort Wayne to drop the hammer like Cole Trickle. It has to be an omen or something.
