On Thursday it was announced that Micah Shrewsberry and the Notre Dame Men’‘s basketball team have drawn the Missouri Tigers in the ACC/SEC Challenge.

ESPN Announces Matchups for 2025 ACC/SEC Challenge
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) – The Atlantic Coast Conference, in conjunction with ESPN and the Southeastern Conference, announced the matchups for the 2025 ACC/SEC Men’s and Women’s Basketball Challenges.
The third annual ACC/SEC Challenges will take place over back-to-back days. The men’s challenge will be on Tuesday, December 2, and Wednesday, December 3, while the women’s challenge is slated for Wednesday, December 3 and Thursday, December 4. The men’s and women’s challenge events will feature games across ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, ACC Network and SEC Network.
“We are excited for the third ACC/SEC Men’s and Women’s Basketball Challenges in December,” said ACC Commissioner Jim Phillips, Ph.D. “This event is circled on the calendar every year and provides tremendous interconference matchups between two of the premier leagues in college basketball. We appreciate our partners at Disney/ESPN for their organization of the Challenge and our colleagues at the SEC, led by Greg Sankey, as we highlight our conferences and showcase our student-athletes and member institutions.”

The winningest conference in NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament history with a .655 winning percentage, the ACC’s current men’s basketball programs have combined to win 17 NCAA Championships and win 492 NCAA Tournament games all-time, the most tournament wins of any conference. In the last 10 tournaments, ACC teams have combined to win 116 games, placed 10 teams in the Final Four, including Duke in 2025, and won three national titles (Duke 2015, North Carolina 2017 and Virginia 2019).
