Fisher is a former 5-Star from Avon, Indiana, and was part of Notre Dame’s 2021 recruiting class. Typically, an offensive lineman at Notre Dame doesn’t see much action as a true freshman, but Blake Fisher won the left tackle starting position in the preseason and was the starter for game one against the Florida State Seminoles.
Unfortunately for Fisher and for the Irish, Fisher suffered an injury that kept him out for the rest of the regular season. He did, however, work himself into position to be a starter at right tackle in Notre Dame’s Fiesta Bowl game that season against the Oklahoma State Cowboys — and he played really well.
Fisher went on to start in the next 26 games for Notre Dame at right tackle since it was Joe Alt that ultimately filled in for Fisher at left tackle for good.
Fisher will likely play right tackle in the NFL, and he has a very tall ceiling given his size and athleticism. He’s also versatile enough to slide inside at guard if needed.
Fisher joins former Irish center, Jarrett Patterson, who was drafted by the Houston Texans last year.
With the 34th pick, the Green Bay Packers drafted Javon Bullard
