Cam Hart was part of Notre Dame’s 2019 recruiting class as a 3-Star wide receiver. After a short stint on offense in fall camp, Hart was moved to defense as a freshman.
Hart started playing regularly in 2020 and became a starter at cornerback in 2021 where he had 9 pass deflections and 2 interceptions. Hart battled some injuries that really started as a freshman (shoulder) and only played in 9 games. In 2023 Hart was named a captain for the Irish and had a spectacular season with 4 pass deflections and 3 forced fumbles. Hart wasn’t thrown at very much as he really became a lockdown corner throughout the season. In fact, Hart allowed ZERO touchdowns in 308 snaps in 2023 — which is pretty good.
Cam tore up the NFL Combine and in the fifth round, Jim Harbaugh just got a steal of a pick. Health is still a concern, but if that is managed, Hart should be a player in the league for a long time.
With the 140th pick, the Los Angeles Chargers drafted Cam Hart (Go Irish!)
