Sir Mohammed, the 6-foot-6 combo guard from Myers Park (NC), committed to Notre Dame Saturday night on ESPNU.
“My relationship with Coach [Micah] Shrewsberry has been great the whole time, even throughout the switch,” he told On3.com. “I love the staff there. He sees me as a lead guard who can do a lot on the floor. He sees me doing a lot of the same things I do with Team Curry.”
Ranked the No. 7 combo guard by 247Sports.com, he also considered Virginia Tech, Villanova, Marquette, Stanford and Oklahoma.
“He’s a legit 6’6 point guard,” said Myers Park and Team Curry coach Nick Jones. “Schools in on him the most are recruiting him as such. He has incredible feel, IQ, ability to operate ballscreens and pass.
“He plays at his own pace and uses his size and physicality well on both ends of the floor.”
He joins point guard Cole Certa and power forward Garrett Sundra in the Irish’s 2024 class.
