OH HEY THERE BROTHER!

We were expecting good news this week and on Friday afternoon, we got something wonderful. 4-Star cornerback Khary Adams gave his public commitment to Marcus Freeman, Mike Mickens, and the 2026 Notre Dame football recruiting class.

First ,I want to thank God for blessing me with talent. I would also like to thank all the coaches who took a chance on me and recruited me. Thank you to every coach who has coached me and prepared me for this moment. GO IRISH☘️ https://t.co/bwwKJnLMzS

The 6’1” 180 pounder from Loyola Blakefield High School in Townson, Maryland, chose the Irish over the Penn State Nittany Lions, Michigan Wolverines, Maryland Terrapins, Oregon Ducks, and many more from all over the country.

From 247:

Debuted in the initial 2026 Top247 rankings in April 2024 before receiving a football scholarship offer. Freakshow track athlete with personal bests of 21.50 (2.1) in the 200, 10.74 (3.0) in the 100, and 6.45 in the 55-meter dash at a verified 6-foot-2, 175 pound billing. Three-phase playmaker who made a noticeable jump in production on both sides of the ball as a junior. Owns the physical specs to erase receivers in man coverage, along with the top-end speed to recover and make plays on the ball at the catch point. Much more comfortable as a junior in zone coverage; will frequently dart into passing lanes and close quickly on ball carriers. Consistently creates chunk plays with the ball in his hands in the return game and at receiver. One of the higher-upside prospects from the DMV in a loaded 2026 cycle. Should be viewed as a toolsy prospect with Round 1 NFL Draft traits who is baking into a potential difference maker for a College Football Playoff contender.

From ISD’s Jaime Uyeyama:

Adams checks just about all of the boxes when it comes to elite traits. The list of players as long as he is who can run like him is very short. He also has two-way ability that is reminiscent of current Notre Dame freshman Dallas Golden, but Adams is simply a bigger version of that.

His size is a lot closer to former Notre Dame CB Cam Hart, who was also a two-way player in high school and was originally recruited to play receiver. Adams reminds me a bit more of a former Notre Dame target who ended up at Michigan, CB Ambry Thomas. He was a very good player in the Big Ten who also made an impact as a kick returner before becoming a day two pick in the NFL Draft.

Adams is the 18th commitment for Notre Dame’s 2026 class and the first one from the great state of Maryland. This is another massive win for Marcus Freeman and Notre Dame — which is made even sweeter by beating out PSU and James Franklin.

Notre Dame continues to recruit extremely well in the secondary, and adding a second cornerback to the class is as equally important as stacking blue-chip on the roster.

Yes… this is a massive commitment for the Irish. It isn’t just about the whole James Franklin thing (even though that’s really fun). Mike Mickens is an absolute BEAST on the recruiting trail, but he’s also one of the best secondary coaches in the country — and the proof is on the field every Saturday. Adams ensures that the success will continue in South Bend.

WELCOME TO ND KHARY!
