Northwestern makes up two of the five.
Izzy Scane and Madison Taylor were two of the five Tewaaraton Finalists named Thursday.
This is the third time Scane has been named a finalist and comes right after she won the award in 2023. Taylor is the first sophomore finalist since 2014.
Loyola’s Chase Boyle, Stony Brook’s Ellie Masera and Notre Dame’s Jackie Wolak were also all named finalists for the honor recognizing the sport’s most outstanding player.
In Scane’s final season, she has totaled 70 goals and 17 assists. She also recently tied Charlotte North’s NCAA goals record against Penn State in the Big Ten Tournament championship.
Taylor leads her team with 93 points, off 66 goals and 27 assists. The 2023 Big Ten Freshman of the Year also has 61 draw controls for the second most on the team.
The announcement comes hours after USA Lacrosse released its All-American selections. Scane, Wolak, Boyle and Masera were all named to the first team, while Taylor was named to the second.
Northwestern has seven total All-Americans this year. Erin Coykendall is a first-team selection, Kendall Halpern a second-team and Sammy White a third-team, with Carleigh Mahoney and Samantha Smith as honorable mentions.
