Northwestern has officially demolished Ryan Field.
All of the bleachers have been completely destroyed, along with the field.

The stadium was torn down because the university is making a new $800 million stadium with the same name.
It won’t be ready until the 2026 season so until then, Northwestern will play a good chunk of its home football games at the Lanny and Sharon Martin athletics facility on campus. The facility is right on the water and also has a great view of the Chicago skyline.
2023 season ticket holders will get first dibs at purchasing season tickets at this venue even though it won’t hold as many fans.
Still, it’ll be a great atmosphere for students and alumni over the next couple of seasons.
Northwestern finished the 2023 season with an 8-5 record after winning the Las Vegas Bowl. It was a great bounce-back year after only winning one game in 2022.
David Braun will be looking for more in 2024, perhaps an appearance in the Big Ten Championship Game in Indianapolis this December.
