Former Chicago Blackhawks head coach Jeremy Colliton and his wife, Jennifer, on Monday sold their five-bedroom, 5,600-square-foot home in Lakeview for $1.708 million.
The Alberta-born Colliton, 40, was the Blackhawks’ head coach from 2018 until 2021, when the team fired him after a 1-9-2 start to the 2021-22 season. He is now the associate coach for the New Jersey Devils.
Through a land trust, the Collitons paid $1.635 million in 2019 for the 11-room Lakeview house, which was built in 2008. Located on a cul-de-sac, the house has 4 ½ bathrooms, three gas fireplaces, hardwood floors, a third-floor office and media room, a playroom on the lower level, and an attached and heated two-car garage. Outside are three decks with new composite decking, and snow melt for both the new front steps and the driveway.
The couple listed the house in 2022 for $1.725 million and reduced their asking price to $1.699 million and then to $1.619 million before taking it off the market later that year. It sold on Monday without being publicly listed, which suggests it was an off-market sale.
Listing agent Tyler Stallings did not respond to a request for comment.
The house had a $31,585 property tax bill in the 2023 tax year. The home is in the same neighborhood where other pro athletes have lived, including former Chicago Bulls forward Zach LaVine, who sold his mansion down the street in 2021 for $3 million. LaVine continues to have his three-bedroom, 4,500-square-foot condominium on the 28th floor of the building at 9 W. Walton St. on the Near North Side on the market for $6.9 million.
