Why the 2025 Chicago Bears are a Team on the Rise

June 30, 2025 by Last Word On Pro Football

The 2025 Chicago Bears look like a contender each time we hear about them and their new head coach, Ben Johnson. This is a team that will do some great things this season. They have a lot of talent on both sides of the ball, especially on offense. Hopefully, they can put this talent together and have a team that’s not only good but also wins a lot of games.

Why the 2025 Chicago Bears are a Team on the Rise

The NFC North: The Toughest Division in Football

Chicago is in the toughest division in football. With the Minnesota Vikings, Detroit Lions, and Green Bay Packers in the NFC North, along with the Bears, it’s easy to see why wins are hard to come by. This is an ultra-talented division with some great coaching staff and players. The Bears have their work cut out for them; that’s for sure.

But the Chicago Bears are now so armed with talent and quality in the coaching staff, they can’t go anywhere but up. This team is finally heading down the right path and appears to be poised to be a contender in the NFC North. But they have a lot to get past with those three monster teams standing in their way.

Can the Bears get past their rivals, or will they falter?

The Bears have a Loaded Offense

Let’s face it, the Bears have a loaded offense with a lot of playmakers ready to take them to a new level. The real X-factor in all of this is Caleb Williams, the Bears’ much-maligned quarterback. No one knows what the Bears have in Williams because his first season with the team was an anomaly. He is the player who is either going to take this team to the promised land or lead it into oblivion.

It’s all on Williams.

But it’s also on the offensive staff to make sure that they get the most out of Williams and the rest of the guys. You can bet that head coach Ben Johnson is cooking up plenty of good stuff for the offense to do. And while there will be growing pains, you can bet we will see a much more organized and powerful offense than we have seen in the past few seasons.

But it all hinges on what Williams will be able to do.

The Defense Matters

The Bears’ defense is going to be better than it was in the previous few seasons. This. mostly because of defensive coordinator Dennis Allen. Just having him in charge will make them at least a bit better. While they didn’t spend a lot of draft capital on the defensive side of the ball, they have some guys who are going to play well and carry the defense forward.

Players like T.J. Edwards, Jaylon Johnson, and a healthy, concussion-free Jaquan Brisker should be able to step up and play well. Hopefully, they will be able to keep teams at bay while the offense scores a lot of points. The defense must be a sizeable contributor to the welfare of the Bears. This is because the offense, while appearing to be a powerful component of this team, cannot do it alone.

The Best Coach in the Division

Would it be possible that Johnson ends up being the best coach in a division full of capable coaches? Depending on how the Bears do this season, Johnson may find himself ushered to the top of the heap. He could rule there for a while. Yes, it’s way too early to tell just how well Johnson will do. Any success will make the Bears look like they were smart in hiring him.

This season promises to be the turnaround year we had all been hoping for. They will finally start to look and act like a better team. They will win more games and surprise us all with what they can do.

The Bears are a team on the rise. That is clear to anyone who has been keeping a close eye on what they have been doing this offseason. Many experts agree that the Bears are going to be a good team in 2025. The biggest question now is, can they follow through on the promise and expectations placed upon them?
