Chicago Theatre Week, the annual promotion of area theater presented by the nonprofit League of Chicago Theatres, is coming Feb. 5-15 this year, with discounted theater tickets on sale Tuesday.
The tickets of $30 or less will be available for some 75 shows at 57 theaters in the city and suburbs. Along with theater productions such as “Hamnet” by the visiting Royal Shakespeare Company at Chicago Shakespeare, events on offer include concerts, such as by Angel Bat Dawid at the Harris Theater, programs such as “Wait, Wait … Don’t Tell Me” by NPR and WBEZ at the Studebaker Theater, and comedy at Second City and iO.
Theatre Week, which lasts closer to a week and a half, is presented in partnership with the city tourism nonprofit Choose Chicago in coordination with Chicago Restaurant Week, running Jan. 23 to Feb. 8 (more information at choosechicago.com/chicago-restaurant-week). Participants of both can compete in “Chicago Theatre Week x Chicago Restaurant Week Bingo” for a chance to win restaurant gift cards and theater tickets.
