For the 17th straight offseason, we’re ranking our top 10 Most Important Chicago Bears for the upcoming season. If all ten come through, then it’s highly likely the team will be playoff-bound for the first time since 2020 and achieve their first winning record since 2018.
Some of the factors we consider when ranking our list include the potential impact they may have, the extent to which the team will rely on the individual for guidance or leadership, the severity of the team’s suffering if the player were to be injured, and other intangible attributes.
Something to keep in mind is that importance is a subjective concept. Your list may look different from ours, and that’s okay because there’s no right or wrong in this type of list. It’s just a fun July exercise to spark discussion about the team.
Last year felt like an exciting fresh start for the franchise, with a new offensive staff in place and the first-ever number one overall quarterback drafted in team history. However, we all know how that ended up.
The Ben Johnson era begins in 2025, and this time (please, please, please…) the fresh start will result in success.
