Tetairoa McMillan was drafted by the Panthers with the eighth overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. Many experts had the Panthers taking a defensive player with this pick, but Carolina went out and got their young quarterback, Bryce Young, a new offensive weapon. Where does he fit into this team, and what is Tetairoa McMillan’s dynasty outlook?
Dynasty Outlook for Tetairoa McMillan
Current Production
McMillan played all three of his collegiate seasons at the University of Arizona. He had limited production in his freshman year, only catching 39 passes, but he had a whopping 18 yards per reception. He had 702 yards and eight receiving touchdowns. In 2023, during his sophomore year, he caught 90 receptions for 1402 yards and ten touchdowns. He had similar numbers during his junior year in 2024, producing 1319 yards and eight touchdowns on 84 receptions. It was a great college career for McMillan. According to Matt Harmon’s Reception Perception, McMillan was great against all types of defenses.

An interesting note is that he played with quarterback Noah Fifita since the 8th grade. They have played together for eight seasons, meaning 2025 in the NFL will be the first time since 7th grade that McMillan will be playing with a different quarterback.
McMillan Dynasty Price
According to KeepTradeCut, a website that crowdsources dynasty values from players who use the site, McMillan is the WR16. He was the WR19 before the NFL Draft, so his value increased slightly. He is ranked behind Travis Hunter, Garrett Wilson, and A.J. Brown, while ranked ahead of Tee Higgins, Rashee Rice, and DeVonta Smith.
McMillan is one of the first four players being drafted in 2025 dynasty rookie drafts. Ashton Jeanty is the clear 1.01, while Hunter, McMillan, and Omarion Hampton are the next three in some order (also Cam Ward in Superflex leagues).
McMillan Dynasty Outlook
The Panthers lacked a true WR1 last season as Xavier Legette and Adam Thielen were battling it out. Thielen is 34 years old, so his career is starting to slow down. Legette showed some decent promise, but he did not show he could be the WR1 for the Panthers. McMillan should take the field in Week 1 as the alpha wide receiver for Carolina.
Quarterback Bryce Young got off to a slow start in his sophomore year before being benched. Due to the injury to Andy Dalton, Young got another chance and showed terrific improvement. He was a top 20 fantasy quarterback for nine out of ten weeks when he became the starter again. For comparison, he only did that five times during his entire rookie season. Young proved that he could be a decent starting quarterback in the NFL. This offense will be productive enough where McMillan will thrive.

Should You Draft Tetairoa McMillian in Dynasty Leagues?
McMillian is an easy draft in the top four of rookie dynasty leagues. He has the potential to be a top 20 wide receiver in his rookie season. He will see plenty of targets in what should be a much-improved offense with another year of development for Young. Tetairoa McMillan was a top-ten pick in the NFL Draft for a reason, and he has a very encouraging dynasty outlook for his professional career.
