The Browns finally broke their 2025 losing streak to bag a win against a playoff-level team, the Green Bay Packers, on Sunday.
With the 13-10 win, the questions surrounding their starting QB Joe Flacco have faded, but the concerns are still there. So are the “what if” questions about rookie QB Shedeur Sanders becoming the starting QB instead.
The most recent one came from analyst Skip Bayless, who has been going off on the Browns for not giving Sanders a fair chance since before the season started. That is probably why Bayless continues standing up for Sanders and making a case for him to be their QB1.
Skip Bayless has Bold Advice for the Browns Regarding Shedeur Sanders
Bayless considers Sanders a top-tier QB talent who could make the Browns the talk of the league.
“I think if Shedeur was starting right now for the Cleveland Browns, I think they would be the talk of the league,” Bayless said on The Arena podcast.
Speaking in terms of the present scenario, Dillon Gabriel would be the franchise’s starting QB were Joe Flacco to step down.

Although Bayless lauded Gabriel’s accuracy and arm, he unapologetically confessed, “But he ain’t Shedeur. Shedeur is special to me.”
Skip Bayless Believes There is Very Little Hope for Sanders in Cleveland
The trade rumors surrounding Sanders are everywhere, and Bayless believes in them, too.
The analyst is convinced that Sanders is only in Cleveland because the owner wanted it, and unless the owner wants Sanders to play, there is no future for him in Berea.
“Sheduer’s only hope in Cleveland is that the owner wants some kind of publicity splash at some point in this season,” Bayless added.
“That’s why the owner stepped up and insisted that his coach and GM step back and take Shedeur Sanders because they had no use for Sanders. That’s why they took Dillon Gabriel 50 spots ahead of Shedeur.”
For now, Sanders might see no action at all as the Browns QB.
