NBA star Kevin Durant didn’t hold back from predicting pass-rusher Micah Parsons’ future, and it could give the Dallas Cowboys some anxiety. He reportedly said that Parsons could join the Washington Commanders and that it would only take two years to make that happen. While the trade between the Cowboys and Commanders would never happen this offseason, it’s not entirely impossible, as the option is there. However, Parsons could easily request a trade even if he gets the long-term contract deal with tons of money to join Dan Quinn in Washington if things don’t improve for the Cowboys.
It’s interesting to keep it in mind, but the Cowboys shouldn’t have to worry for now. Owner Jerry Jones will never allow sending Parsons to join their long-time hated rival. Originally selected in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft, the former Penn State product is still waiting for a new contract, and it doesn’t look good for the Cowboys if they keep playing the “waiting game.” Parsons did say the more the Cowboys wait, the more they would have to eventually pay, but this isn’t the first time that Dallas waits until the last minute to agree on a new contract. The good news is that Parsons hasn’t been missing any time this offseason due to a contract stalemate, but that could easily change if there isn’t any change before NFL Training Camp.
However, here are two realistic teams that could trade for Parsons and offer a better possible deal if the Cowboys are continuing to stall.

Shocking: Did NBA Star Kevin Durant Suggest a Micah Parsons Trade Should Happen? – Chargers, Bears Top Suitors
Money Bags in LA
Head Coach Jim Harbaugh wants to win football games with an old-school physical defense, but has been reluctant to do that. Despite re-signing Bud Dupree to a contract extension to help veteran Khalil Mack, this isn’t enough stability for a defense that was struggling to contain the run. The Chargers just lost arguably their best defender in their unit, Poona Ford, to the Los Angeles Rams this offseason. While they did bring back Teair Tart for another year, they shouldn’t be too reliant on the new free agent acquisition, Da’Shawn Hand.
It’s been pretty much a slugfest of making reliable offseason moves to improve the defense. The Chargers can’t expect to go further in the postseason if they can’t pull off getting the top pass-rusher with the cap space they have. With that, they’re able to afford a contract that Parsons is looking for. If Dallas doesn’t give Parsons what he wants, the Chargers should target him to finally give this defense some new life.
The Chicago Trenches
Meanwhile, the Chicago Bears have been a rumored team that could target Parsons this offseason in a possible trade. However, after adding a bunch of talent this offseason like Grady Jarrett and Dayo Odeyingbo, they might not be in the market for him anymore. Anything is still possible, and reportedly, linebacker Tremaine Edmunds might be playing his last season with the Bears. Parsons’ joining the Bears could put this once-disastrous team over the top in the NFC.
