Since the New Orleans Saints don’t look like legitimate contenders this 2025 regular season, star running back Alvin Kamara might be on the trade block. According to a CBS Report, Cody Benjamin believes Kamara is one of the big names that might move on to another team this summer. This could be true considering the ways things are in New Orleans after losing Derek Carr to retirement, they don’t have a long-term signal-caller that could at least make the Saints competitive for a legitimate playoff spot. Originally selected in the third round of the 2017 NFL Draft, the former Tennessee product became one of the best league running backs, but hasn’t been able to get any winning seasons in recent memory, post-Drew Brees Era.
While Benjamin thinks Kamara could be a fit for the Denver Broncos, it doesn’t guarantee that he will go there or any roster before the 2025 campaign. The main holdup is between Kamara and new head coach Kellen Moore, who wants to center the offense around him, so that might complicate things a lot. However, it shouldn’t be surprising if the running back winds up requesting a trade if the Saints are enduring a disastrous 2025 season, which might likely happen. Kamara will intrigue a lot of teams, and these rosters could make a godfather offer.

One NFL Superstar Alvin Kamara Could Reportedly Be On Trade Block – 4 Potential Fits
Best Fits
Dallas Cowboys
Despite signing both Javonte Williams and Miles Sanders, the Dallas Cowboys still have one of the worst running back units in the league. 2025 draft pick Jaydon Blue might be the only hope, but he’s a rookie and needs time to adjust to the offensive scheme. If the Cowboys are in the thick of the playoff race, they should trade for Kamara to give them a godfather package of him, Dak Prescott and George Pickens as the new trio.
Kansas City Chiefs
Meanwhile, the Kansas City Chiefs have an interesting running back room situation. Isiah Pacheco is on the hot seat this season and has been slowly depleting. Veteran Kareem Hunt will probably last at least one more campaign with the Chiefs, and bringing in Elijah Mitchell was more of a depth situation. Kamara could change the entire run game for Kansas City to add some much-needed stability for quarterback Patrick Mahomes.
Washington Commanders
The Washington Commanders have one of the best offenses in the league, after years of mediocrity. Quarterback Jayden Daniels is their long-term guy, but it doesn’t mean the same can be said about the running back unit. Between Brian Robinson Jr. and Austin Ekeler, they haven’t done much of anything special this past season to convince the Commanders that they are long-term contributors to the run game. Despite re-signing Ekeler to another deal, they could make one of the biggest trades again and change their entire offense for the next decade.
Los Angeles Chargers
However, head coach Jim Harbaugh wants to win football games with a strong running game, but with an unproven 2025 draft pick, Omarion Hampton and veteran Najee Harris, there’s still work left to do in this unit. Last year, they had an average run game with JK Dobbins and Gus Edwards. Even if Harris departs after one season, they could easily trade for Kamara during the 2025 season to make the Chargers one of the most dangerous AFC threats.
