After months and months of waiting, the 2021 NFL season is finally here. The Buffalo Bills should be one of the best teams in the league, in large part thanks to their great wide receiver. According to the latest NFL rumors, Stefon Diggs talked about his time in Minnesota and said that he could’ve been a better teammate near the end of his tenure. In other news, Trevor Lawrence earned the rank of captain, while Jameis Winston discussed what it means to be a starting quarterback in the NFL.

NFL Rumors: Stefon Diggs, Trevor Lawrence, Jameis Winston
After spending the first five years of his career in Minnesota, wide receiver Stefon Diggs was looking for a change of scenery. While trying to make a trade happen, Diggs admitted that he stopped being a good teammate during his final few months with the Vikings.
“Coming from my old team…up to me wanting to leave and go to another place, I was a good teammate. It wasn’t until I wanted to do something else is when I became a bad teammate, Diggs said, while adding that he “always tried to play with a chip on my shoulder”.
Stefon Diggs understands why he caught the reputation as a bad teammate on way out of Minnesota.
He looked at the #Bills as a fresh start.
“When I get there I’ll show them who I am and we’ll go from there.”

Despite the unceremonious finish, Diggs says that he has been nothing but a positive force in Buffalo’s locker room. “Coming [to Buffalo] I had a fresh start…I just look at it as, when I get there I’ll show them who I am and we’ll go from there. As far as my new chapter with my new team, things are going pretty good.”
To say that things are going pretty well is a massive understatement. Diggs set the NFL on fire last year, recording a league-high 127 receptions for 1,535 yards and eight touchdowns while appearing in all 16 games. He was one of the biggest reasons Buffalo made it all the way to the AFC Championship Game, and his arrival directly correlates with Josh Allen taking the next step as a true franchise quarterback.
Trevor Lawrence: It’s An Honor to Be Named Captain
Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence has yet to play a meaningful NFL snap, but his teammates already believe that he has what it takes to lead a franchise. The Clemson product earned team captain honors from his teammates, and Lawrence doesn’t take the responsibility lightly.
“It’s a really cool feeling, especially as a younger guy, just having that support from my teammates,” Lawrence said. While the quarterback is definitely happy to have earned this honor, he also added that “nothing changes. Same expectation, and now it’s time to go out there and win some games.”
Widely considered the best quarterback prospect since Andrew Luck, Lawrence is set to be one of three rookie passers starting in Week 1. Jacksonville begins their regular season campaign by traveling to Houston in an AFC South showdown.

Jameis Winston: It’s “A Blessing” To Start Again
Jameis Winston spent the first five years of his career leading the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and, after riding the bench for a season, is back in the starting lineup. While he is still in the NFC South, Winston now has the honor of taking over for Drew Brees and leading the New Orleans Saints. Winston knows firsthand just how hard it is to hold onto a starting job in the NFL and went out of his way to talk about what being a starting quarterback means to him.
“It’s just fun. It’s a blessing to have this opportunity to lead the pack, and I’m just grateful for it…and I’m not taking anything for granted. I’m just blessed and grateful.”
Winning the starting job was no easy task for Winston. The quarterback sat behind Taysom Hill last year when Brees was injured and had to watch Hill go 3-1 while under center. Winston, meanwhile, threw just 12 passes last year, including a 56-yard touchdown in the playoffs.

Winston and Hill entered the offseason on even grounds, but the former first-overall pick won the job following a phenomenal preseason effort. Only time will tell if he can keep the job for a full season, but if he can’t, it won’t be for lack of trying.
