Bears fans have been impatiently waiting to find out who will steer the ship of this franchise ever since Ryan Pace was relieved of his duties with the team. After a rocky George McCaskey press conference, that laid out the path the team would take to find its next GM and Head Coach. Fans felt uneasy about where this selection process would go knowing that at the end of the day it was McCaskey’s choice to make.
January 25th 2022 new broke that the Bears have hired Ryan Poles to become the new General Manager of The Chicago Bears. Poles has spent the last 13 years within the Kansas City Chiefs front office. He started within the scouting department and worked his way up to the Executive Director Of Player Personnel. Poles played football at Boston College and spent a brief amount of time with the Bears as an undrafted free agent. According to the “Da Bears Blog”, Poles has already demanded that he gets the opportunity to re-interview the Head Coach candidates McCaskey and company have already interviewed and deemed “finalist”, he will expand that list if needed. Poles is doing exactly what Bears fans want, taking the reign from the McCaskey family and doing what George said the GM is supposed to do, being the leader of the entire football operations. Sources around the league are ecstatic about the hiring for the Bears.
Poles is 36 years young and he brings a new mindset into a historic franchise. His first big move as the now GM will be his selection of the next head coach of the Bears. Bears fans smile, because we got our guy.
