Chicago Bears head coach Matt Nagy had an interesting admission on his quarterback situation following his team’s Week 1 loss to the Los Angeles Rams.
The Bears started Andy Dalton in the Sunday night loss to the Rams. Dalton didn’t play very well, throwing for 206 yards, no touchdowns and one interception in the 34-14 loss to the NFC West contenders.
Fields saw some action, as well. He got a couple of snaps inside the red zone, completing a pass and rushing for a score.
Following the game, Nagy admitted that he wished the game was closer, so Fields could have gotten more snaps.
Maybe the most intriguing part of Justin Fields playing Sunday was Matt Nagy’s admission he would have taken more snaps were the game closer.

Bears fans, unsurprisingly, are blasting Nagy for not playing Fields more. If he’s good enough to play a couple of snaps here and there, he’s probably good enough to see even more playing time.
The Bears aren’t likely to change anything anytime soon, though.
Chicago will look to notch its first win of the season in Week 2 against the Cincinnati Bengals. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. E.T.
