Lollapalooza 2025: What to know for Day 3

August 2, 2025 by Chicago Tribune

Here’s what to know as the third day of Lollapalooza kicks off in Grant Park.

Getting in:

The gates are open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily. Main gates are located at Michigan Avenue and Ida B. Wells Drive and the North Entrance is located at Monroe Street and Columbus Drive. For more information about your wristband, travel and what to bring, check our top 10 tips for attending, as well as Lollapalooza’s bag policy and wristband assistance and activation pages.

What’s the CTA and Metra game plan?

Metra is adding extra trains with added railcars daily on most lines. For details on your CTA route, visit the CTA Lollapalooza page and consult their website for up-to-date information on delays and closures. Lollapalooza also has a travel guide.

Who is on the Saturday schedule?

Rüfüs Du Sol (T-Mobile Stage at 8:45 p.m.) and TWICE (Bud Light stage at 8:30 p.m.) are Saturday’s headliners. As for artists not to miss, Tribune music writer Britt Julious also recommends Mk.gee (The Grove stage at 9 p.m.) and Doechii (T-Mobile stage at 6:55 p.m). Her music guide has critic’s picks by day through Sunday.

TWICE will be the first female K-pop group to headline Lollapalooza.

Chicago’s Chance the Rapper (Perry’s Stage at 5:50 p.m.) was a surprise performance added to the schedule as of Friday morning. He is scheduled to play for a mere 15 minutes.

Other artists playing Saturday include Clairo, Young Miko, Two Friends, Marina, Chase & Status, Levity, JPEGMAFIA and Fujii Kaze.

Official Lollapalooza aftershows Saturday night include Foster the People at Metro, Flipturn at Park West, Remi Wolf at Salt Shed and Mariah the Scientist at Vic Theatre. Lollapalooza has a full list of official aftershows.

What are fans buzzing about?

Fans on social media are expecting a big delivery around visuals and choreography from both TWICE and Rüfüs Du Sol. As TWICE will be the festival’s first ever female K-pop headliner, anticipation around the performance is high. Indie-pop singer Clairo (Bud Light Stage at 6:30) is also trending on social media with fans expecting an emotional set.

Weather outlook:

Another pleasant day at Lollapalooza is expected Saturday. Rain is not predicted during festival hours and the temperature will be a high of 78 and a low of 61 degrees. There’s a good chance of humidity in the air, so the temperature may feel closer to 80 degrees.

What’s the must-wear item?

Saturday’s fashion will be inspired by girl group TWICE and alternative dance group Rüfüs Du Sol, so expect a lot of fun styles: bright, femme outfits coupled with sleek, edgy looks.

Any smart moves for navigating crowds?

Headliners are scheduled close together as usual tonight, with Rüfüs Du Sol slated to begin 15 minutes after TWICE. If you want to catch two highly anticipated acts, you may want to stick around after Clairo on the Bud Light Stage to claim your spot at TWICE, starting roughly an hour later.
