Last Minute Sleepers for Your Fantasy Football Drafts

August 28, 2025 by Last Word On Pro Football

College football has already started, Oktoberfest beer is hitting the Costco shelves, and that means fantasy football drafts are in full swing. While these early sleepers have climbed in ADP already, there is still plenty of value outside the top-100 picks. Let’s find the best sleepers for fantasy football 2025 now that ADP has settled a bit.

*Note – ADP was pulled from the Footballguys ADP tool on 28 August 2025. They are ordered from earliest ADP to latest for those looking for deep sleepers.

Last Minute Sleepers for Your Fantasy Football Drafts

Michael Pittman Jr. – Wide Receiver, Indianapolis Colts ADP 111 WR49

Pittman Jr. played through a broken back last year and was still a WR4 in PPR. Now he’s healthier, and while the touchdown upside is certainly capped in Indy, Daniel Jones can get Pittman the ball in the short and intermediate area better than Anthony Richardson. Pittman isn’t a swing-for-the-fences sleeper, but he is a good bet to return on his ADP.

J.J. McCarthy – Quarterback, Minnesota Vikings ADP 123 QB18

Maybe McCarthy is good, maybe he isn’t. But the Kevin O’Connell offense is so kind to quarterbacks that it likely won’t matter. Quarterbacks who get to throw to Justin Jefferson have had a strong history for fantasy. Sam Darnold was regarded as a castoff before last season, and the Minnesota system let him showcase his best abilities as a passer. If McCarthy is either as good as Darnold or a little bit worse but runs slightly more, he’s due for a top ten season for fantasy football. In 1QB leagues, McCarthy is going borderline undrafted. For teams that want to use a late-round quarterback strategy, McCarthy is a solid option.

Dylan Sampson – Running Back, Cleveland Browns ADP 167 ADP RB55

Quinshon Judkins still isn’t under contract. Sampson was running with Jerome Ford throughout the preseason, and Joe Flacco at quarterback provides a lot more optimism for the early season. It’s likely a gross split in Week 1, but as the season progresses, there’s a world where Sampson is a starting running back with pass-catching ability for a team that will often be losing. That sounds like a recipe for success this deep in fantasy football drafts.

Demario Douglas – Wide Receiver, New England Patriots ADP 182 WR66

Drake Maye’s breakout is an expected storyline for 2025. But Stefon Diggs is still recovering from knee surgery, Kyle Williams is banged up, and every report out of Patriots camp is that Douglas is Maye’s favorite receiver. For teams that didn’t fill out their wide receiver room early, Douglas is a free PPR option super late in drafts.

Chig Okonkwo – Tight End, Tennessee Titans ADP 186 TE22

When looking around at the Titans receiver room, it’s… not great. Maybe the answer to which Titans receiver to draft this year is really their tight end. Okonkwo is a freak after the catch, and is going from the Will Levis/Mason Rudolph show to the number one overall pick in Cam Ward. For streaming purposes or best ball tournaments, Okonkwo is one of the best sleepers in fantasy football 2025.
