Jayden Higgins made history for a rookie before he even set foot on the field. He became the first second-round pick in NFL history to receive a fully guaranteed contract. His contract comes in at four years, $11.7 million. The Texans showed they have a lot of belief in Higgins by giving him a fully guaranteed contract. How are the Texans planning on using him, and how does this affect Jayden Higgins’ dynasty outlook?

Dynasty Outlook for Jayden Higgins
Current Production
Higgins spent two years at Eastern Kentucky before transferring to Iowa State and finishing his college career with the Cyclones for two seasons. He had two solid seasons at Iowa State, going for 53 receptions, 983 receiving yards, and six receiving touchdowns in 2023. In 2024, he improved on all these marks, catching 87 passes for 1183 yards and nine touchdowns. Iowa State had a great season before losing in the Big 12 Championship game. Higgins and fellow Cyclone receiver, Jaylin Noel, played a huge part in that. Now, both wide receivers will make the trip from Iowa State to Houston to team up with C.J. Stroud and the Texans.

According to KeepTradeCut, a website that crowdsources dynasty values from players who use the site, Higgins is the WR38. He was the WR67 before the NFL Draft, so fantasy managers really love Higgins’ landing spot. Currently, he is right behind Ricky Pearsall, Mike Evans, and Tyreek Hill, while ahead of Jerry Jeudy, Jayden Reed, and Chris Godwin. Higgins is going in the early second round of 2025 rookie dynasty drafts. In rookie drafts, the wide receivers being drafted ahead of Higgins are Tetairoa McMillan, Travis Hunter, Emeka Egbuka, and Matthew Golden. He is going in the same range as Luther Burden III, Tre Harris, and Kyle Williams.

Higgins Dynasty Outlook
The Texans revamped their wide receiver room after losing Stefon Diggs to the Patriots in free agency and with the concern that Tank Dell will miss most, if not all, of the 2025 season due to injuries. They drafted both Higgins and Noel and traded for Christian Kirk. Nico Collins will still be the alpha wide receiver on the team, while the rest of the guys will be fighting for the WR2 role. Noel and Kirk play most of their snaps in the slot, while Higgins can work outside opposite of Collins.
The Texans proved last season that they could support two fantasy wide receivers. Collins and Diggs only played in four full games together. Diggs’ weekly finishes were WR9, WR44, WR15, and WR15. Collins’ weekly finishes were WR13, WR4, WR37, and WR1. They each had three individual top-15 finishes, and in two of the four weeks, they were both top 15 wide receivers. Even in the week that Collins was the overall WR1, Diggs finished as the WR15. Stroud was at his best when he had both of these guys playing together. Stroud only had two top-ten weekly finishes last season, and both of them came within these first four weeks when both Collins and Diggs were healthy. Higgins can take on the Diggs role and have plenty of fantasy production while making the offense and Stroud better as a hole.
Should You Draft Jayden Higgins in Dynasty Rookie Drafts?
Yes, Higgins is a great wide receiver to target in dynasty rookie drafts. He will be very productive in the Texans offense even with Collins as the alpha wide receiver on the team. If I had a late-first-round pick, I would rather trade back to the early-second round and take Higgins instead of taking Egbuka or Golden in the late first. Higgins will be a fun player to watch as he looks to revamp the Texans offense that struggled last season.
