Jalen Milroe had an up-and-down college career at Alabama. He was drafted in the third round (92nd overall) in the 2025 NFL Draft by the Seattle Seahawks. The Seahawks signed Sam Darnold in free agency after trading away Geno Smith. Milroe will be the backup behind Darnold. When can he get the chance to start in the NFL, and what is Jalen Milroe’s dynasty outlook?
Dynasty Outlook for Jalen Milroe
Current Production
In 2023, Milroe had a great season, leading Alabama to the College Football Playoff Semifinal in Nick Saban’s last year of coaching. He completed 65.8% of his passes, threw for 2834 yards, 23 touchdowns, and just six interceptions. Milroe added 531 rushing yards and twelve rushing touchdowns. He finished sixth in the Heisman Voting that season.
Milroe struggled in 2024, as Alabama failed to make the expanded twelve-team College Football Playoff. Milroe completed 64.3% of his passes for 2844 yards and 16 touchdowns. However, he had 11 interceptions. He dominated on the ground, rushing for 726 yards and 20 touchdowns. Although the turnovers were a problem, his rushing ability gives him immense upside in fantasy football.
Milroe Dynasty Price
According to KeepTradeCut, a website that crowdsources dynasty values from players who use the site, Milroe is the QB28. He was the QB31 before the Draft, so his value has only slightly increased since the Draft. He is currently ranked right behind Tua Tagovailoa, Sam Darnold, and Geno Smith while ranked ahead of Matthew Stafford, Anthony Richardson, and Tyler Shough.
Milroe is the third quarterback being drafted in 2025 rookie dynasty drafts behind Cam Ward and Jaxson Dart. He is going before Tyler Shough and Shedeur Sanders and is being drafted in the second round.
Milroe Dynasty Outlook
Milroe comes into college with some throwing concerns. He struggled with accuracy, anticipation, and consistency at Alabama, so he has some things to clean up. However, he is the most athletic quarterback in this draft class, and his rushing ability is insane. He could be what Anthony Richardson was supposed to be when he gets a chance to start. Richardson was being drafted as a top-ten quarterback in redraft in 2024, and Milroe will have that same upside if and when he becomes a full-time starter.
The Seahawks offense had an eventful offseason, starting with the trade of Geno Smith to the Raiders. They signed Sam Darnold to a three-year contract with an opt-out after two seasons. Darnold only had one good season in the NFL, and that was with a great offensive head coach, Kevin O’Connell, and a superstar wide receiver in Justin Jefferson. Seattle is a massive downgrade for him, especially after losing DK Metcalf. If Darnold struggles, Milroe will get a chance to take over and start. It would not be surprising if Milroe is the starter by the end of the season. Think of the Falcons signing Kirk Cousins and drafting Michael Penix Jr. last season. The veteran Cousins was the starter to begin the season, but was benched for Penix by the end. I could see a very similar situation playing out in Seattle this season.
Should You Draft Jalen Milroe in Dynasty Leagues?
Yes, Milroe has tremendous potential and upside if he can clean up his throwing issues. Dual-threat quarterbacks have taken over fantasy football in the last decade. The top four quarterbacks going into 2025 are Josh Allen, Lamar Jackson, Jayden Daniels, and Jalen Hurts, who are all great rushing threats. Additionally, Justin Fields is being drafted as a top-ten quarterback due to his rushing upside. Milroe has the potential to be a future top-ten fantasy quarterback, starting as early as 2026, if he can win the starting job over Darnold in 2025, which is definitely possible. Milroe has a very bright dynasty outlook.
