George Pickens was traded from the Pittsburgh Steelers to the Dallas Cowboys for a third-round pick and a late-round pick swap. There were a lot of trade rumors surrounding trades with Pickens after the Steelers went out and traded for DK Metcalf, and a deal finally got done with the Cowboys. Pickens joins CeeDee Lamb and Dak Prescott in the Cowboys offense. How does this affect George Pickens’ dynasty outlook?
Dynasty Outlook for George Pickens
Current Production
Pickens spent the first three years of his NFL career with the Steelers. His best season was in 2023 when he caught 63 passes for 1140 receiving yards and five touchdowns. He struggled with injuries in 2024, only playing in 14 games. He caught 59 receptions for 900 yards and just three touchdowns. The Steelers passing offense struggled last season with Justin Fields and Russell Wilson at quarterback. Pickens was the true WR1 on the Steelers, but they struggled to get him involved more in the offense.

Pickens Dynasty Price
According to KeepTradeCut, a website that crowdsources dynasty values from players who use the site, Pickens is the WR33. He is behind Jameson Williams, Terry McLaurin, Luther Burden, and ahead of Brandon Aiyuk, Tyreek Hill, and Ricky Pearsall. Pickens was the WR16 in December of last season, and his value has slowly dropped during the offseason due to trade rumors and the Steelers quarterback questions. He only has one year left on his contract before he is a free agent after the 2025 season. He is worth the 2.01 pick in 2025 rookie drafts in dynasty.
Pickens Dynasty Outlook

Pickens gets a big offensive boost. He goes from playing with the Steelers, who have a quarterback competition between Mason Rudolph, Will Howard, and maybe Aaron Rodgers. The Cowboys have Dak Prescott, who is a massive upgrade over all three of these guys.
Pickens goes from being the WR1 on the Steelers to the WR2 on the Cowboys behind Lamb. Lamb deserves a massive target share, but behind him, there is not much competition for targets. Pickens will easily earn the WR2 spot on the Cowboys.
Pickens and Lamb should also complement each other well. According to this heat map, Lamb catches a lot of passes in the middle of the field, while Pickens is a deep threat down the sideline. Both of these receivers can and will be successful in this offense.

What To Do With George Pickens in Dynasty Leagues?
Pickens only has a year on his contract with the Cowboys, but if he performs well, he should get a good deal in free agency for the 2026 season. Only having one guaranteed year with the Cowboys makes his dynasty projection a little tricky. However, Pickens is in a good position to succeed with the Cowboys in 2025. The quarterback and offense as a whole are better, and defenses have to focus more on Lamb, meaning Pickens should have fewer defenders covering him. Pickens is worth a buy in dynasty leagues. Pickens is just a 24-year-old receiver with a lot left to prove in his career.
