Five Players Who Could Be Moved by the NFL Trade Deadline

October 11, 2025 by Last Word On Pro Football

The NFL trade deadline is approaching fast. Several marquee names could be on the move as teams prepare for the stretch run. Some contenders are looking to fill key roster holes. Others are ready to stockpile picks for the future. Five players to watch are Mark Andrews, Alvin Kamara, Jakobi Meyers, Bradley Chubb, and David Njoku. Each has a unique situation that makes a trade realistic before the deadline.

Five Players Who Could Be Moved by the NFL Trade Deadline

Tight End Shake Up: David Njoku and Mark Andrews

Five players that could be moved by the NFL trade deadline starts off with the tight end market. David Njoku is one of the most athletic and talented tight ends in the league. He has strong hands and big play ability. The Browns have started to lean toward younger options. Third-round rookie Harold Fannin Jr caught a touchdown against the Vikings last Sunday, and the coaching staff praised his development. Njoku is in the final year of his contract. That makes him an attractive trade chip for teams looking to upgrade at tight end. A playoff contender lacking a dynamic option could see him as a plug-and-play difference maker.

Mark Andrews has not looked like the same player since his gruesome leg injury two years ago. He was once the centrepiece of Baltimore’s passing attack, but his impact has faded. He turns 31 next year, and the Ravens may want to move on early. Isaiah Likely has emerged as a younger and cheaper option. Baltimore could explore dealing Andrews to a tight end needy team before he departs in free agency next offseason.

Underrated Wideout Jakobi Meyers

Jakobi Meyers remains one of the most underrated receivers in football. His fit with the new Raiders regime has been rocky. Under offensive coordinator Chip Kelly, the offense has struggled behind a shaky offensive line. Geno Smith’s poor play has made things worse. Meyers has not been as productive in this system and has grown frustrated with the lack of a contract extension. He pushed for a deal this offseason but did not get it. He eventually requested a trade, which the team ignored. With Las Vegas likely to sell at the deadline, Meyers is a prime candidate to be moved. He would be a perfect WR2 for a team like the Steelers, who need another reliable wideout. Meyers is probably the most likely to be traded out of five players mentioned that could be moved by the NFL trade deadline.

Pass Rushing Boost Bradley Chubb

Bradley Chubb has been a popular name in recent trade rumors. Miami is 1-4 and sitting near the bottom of the AFC standings, ahead of only the winless Jets. Moving Chubb could free up future flexibility and bring back strong draft capital. He is off to a hot start with four sacks this year. In 2023, he posted 11 sacks, the second-best mark of his career. After tearing his ACL in 2024, he is back to form and remains one of the league’s most impactful edge rushers. Contenders looking for a pass rushing spark will be watching closely.

A Bold Move Alvin Kamara

Despite being one of the five players that could be moved by the NFL trade deadline, this one is a bit bolder. Many believe Alvin Kamara should retire in a Saints uniform but his role in New Orleans has slowly diminished. Kendre Miller has taken on a bigger workload, and the Saints are far from contending. Kamara, now 30, might prefer to finish his career on a winning team. The Kansas City Chiefs could be a perfect landing spot. They have struggled to establish a consistent run game with Isaiah Pacheco and Kareem Hunt. Kamara’s agility and pass catching skill set would fit perfectly in Andy Reid’s offense. He has been one of the NFL’s most reliable all-around backs over the last eight years. He could push a contender’s offense to another level.
