WCG’s lead draft analyst breaks down Chicago’s latest offensive line draft pick.
With the No. 56 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, the Chicago Bears selected Boston College offensive tackle Ozzy Trapilo.
A three-year starter at the ACC level, Trapilo has starting experience as both a left tackle and a right tackle. He was a first-team All-ACC in 2024, a second-team All-ACC in 2023 and didn’t have a single penalty in all of 2024.
Trapilo is a 6-foot-8 offensive tackle with impressive athleticism and flexibility for such a big man. His raw power and big hands help him overwhelm defenders at the point of attack, as well.
Trapilo joins recent Bears offensive line additions like Joe Thuney, Drew Dalman and Jonah Jackson this offseason, serving as insurance at offensive tackle behind Braxton Jones and Darnell Wright.
I took to Twitter/X to quickly break down Chicago’s newest offensive tackle addition.

Trapilo is a three-year starter at Boston College with LT/RT experience.
Powerful lineman who’s 6’8” and 316 pounds. When he gets his massive paws on you, it’s game over. #Bears pic.twitter.com/kKuYWPoUUF

Trapilo is a tremendous mover for his size, as well.
Bends his knees much better than most tall OTs. Nimble feet in pass protection and a strong anchor. #Bears pic.twitter.com/sYJOkHq1D3

Trapilo only had 6 penalties in his three seasons as a starter at Ryan Poles’ alma mater.
His pure combination of size and short-area quickness gives him plenty of momentum at the point of attack. #Bears pic.twitter.com/9ZWqMW3Ol4

FWIW, here’s Trapilo shutting down Mike Green at the Senior Bowl this year. #Bears pic.twitter.com/AqO5ou2hqE

Here’s Ozzy Trapilo’s RAS grade.
As you can see, he’s an above-average athlete for an offensive tackle, let alone one who’s as tall as he is. #Bears pic.twitter.com/pqBIgUsOeV

Ozzy Trapilo probably shouldn’t start in Year 1, since his zone-run processing and awareness against blitzes needs work.
That said, he has tremendous physical tools and is a natural mover who can play both tackle spots. Great swing tackle Year 1 and a future starter. #Bears
