Draft or Pass? Malik Nabers Fantasy Football Outlook 2025

July 6, 2025 by Last Word On Pro Football

Malik Nabers was a rookie sensation, finishing as the WR6 in fantasy football. He finished this high even with poor quarterback play. The New York Giants should have a major upgrade at quarterback this season. Can he improve on his amazing rookie season, and what is Malik Nabers’ fantasy football outlook in 2025?

Recent Production

Nabers had 170 targets last season. He caught 109 of them for 1204 receiving yards and seven touchdowns. He had a 34.9% target share, which was the highest among all wide receivers. He was only sixth in fantasy points per game at 18.2, but was first in expected fantasy points per game at 23.8. He was expected to have 5.6 more fantasy points per game than he had, which is a massive difference. Most of this is probably because he played with poor quarterbacks, who struggled to give Nabers accurate passes.

New York Giants wide receiver Malik Nabers (1) runs into the end zone for a touchdown in there second quarter during a game between New York Giants and Indianapolis Colts at MetLife Stadium on Sunday, Dec. 29, 2024.

Nabers’ Fantasy Outlook 2025

The Giants completely revamped their quarterback room, signing Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston in free agency. Then, they traded back up into the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft to select Jaxson Dart. All three of these quarterbacks should be better than what the Giants had last year with Daniel Jones, Tommy DeVito, and Drew Lock.

Wilson is the projected Week 1 starter, who is a veteran and will look to get Nabers the ball. In fact, Wilson said part of the reason he came to the Giants was so that he could throw passes to Nabers. If Winston has to start for whatever reason, he is known to pamper his #1 wide receiver with many targets. Even if Dart has to start, he should be good enough to give Nabers plenty of opportunities to be very successful.

The Giants have no other real threats in the pass-catching room to take many targets away from Nabers. Wan’Dale Robinson catches a lot of passes, but many of them are for short-yardage. Nabers is the go-to guy in the offense, and it’s not completely close.

Nabers ADP

According to FantasyPros, Nabers is the WR5 off the board in fantasy football drafts and the eighth overall player. The only wide receivers going ahead of Nabers are Ja’Marr Chase, Justin Jefferson, CeeDee Lamb, and Puka Nacua. He was the WR6 in fantasy last year, and he is being drafted as the WR5 right now, so his ADP is properly priced.

Should You Draft or Pass on Malik Nabers in Fantasy Football 2025?

Nabers is an obvious draft choice in the first round and is a surefire pick. He was so good last year, even with poor quarterback play. Based on expected fantasy points, he could have been the overall WR1 with a better quarterback. The Giants went out and got him better quarterbacks. Nabers is one of the few who has the potential to finish as the overall WR1 in 2025. He is a must-draft in the middle-to-late first round of fantasy drafts in 2025, and we could be looking at a top-three fantasy wide receiver going into 2026 drafts.
