Ladd McConkey took the fantasy football world by storm in 2024, finishing as the WR13 in his rookie season. He exploded in the AFC Wild Card Game, catching nine passes for 197 yards and a touchdown. Fantasy managers are hoping that he can continue that into 2025. What is Ladd McConkey’s fantasy football outlook for redraft leagues?
Fantasy Football Outlook for Ladd McConkey
2024 Production
Like most rookie wide receivers, McConkey got off to a slow start, only scoring double-digit fantasy points twice in his first six weeks. Then, he became a staple in fantasy lineups, scoring double-digit points in all but one game he played in for the rest of the season. In his final seven games, his lowest weekly finish was the WR24. However, five of those seven finishes were between the WR16 and WR24, so he was a very consistent low-end WR2 in twelve-team leagues.
McConkey finished with 82 receptions on 112 targets for 1149 receiving yards and seven touchdowns. According to PlayerProfiler, McConkey was 36th in route participation, 39th in routes run, and 23rd in targets. These numbers would suggest that he should have finished lower in fantasy points, which is backed up by the fact that he only ranked as the WR31 in expected fantasy points per game.
McConkey played over 64% of his snaps in the slot and dominated against man defenses, finishing fourth in fantasy points per target against man defenses.

McConkey 2025 Outlook
The Chargers are expected to be a run-first team this season after signing Najee Harris and drafting Omarion Hampton in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft. The Chargers were already run-heavy last season with J.K. Dobbins and Gus Edwards, so expect them to continue this in 2025.
McConkey dominated as a slot wide receiver last year, but the Chargers’ outside wide receivers struggled. They lost Josh Palmer in free agency but re-signed Mike Williams and drafted Tre Harris out of Ole Miss in the second round of the Draft. Quentin Johnston has not lived up to expectations, so look for Harris to replace him as a starter on the outside. The Chargers also completely revamped their tight end room, signing Will Dissly and Tyler Conklin and then drafting Oronde Gadsden III.
As mentioned above, McConkey only ranked 23rd in targets with 112. I don’t expect him to see that many more in 2025 with the added running backs, wide receivers, and tight ends around him.

Ladd McConkey ADP
According to FantasyPros, in PPR scoring, McConkey is being drafted as the WR11 and 19th player overall. The three receivers just above him are Brian Thomas Jr., Drake London, and A.J. Brown, while he is just ahead of Rashee Rice, Tee Higgins, and Garrett Wilson.
Should You Draft or Pass on Ladd McConkey in 2025 Fantasy Football?
McConkey was great on the surface last season, but looking deeper into the numbers suggests that McConkey overperformed his expectations. This could cause negative regression in 2025. Managers are skewed by his amazing performance the last time they watched him in the Wild Card Game. He was only a low-end WR2 for his best stretch last season and is being drafted as a low-end WR1 right now. There are players with better value further down the ADP board, including Rice, Davante Adams, and Tyreek Hill. I am passing on McConkey for where his ADP is in 2025 redraft fantasy football.
