LANDOVER, Md. (WGN) — A thrilling victory for the Chicago Bears over the Washington Commanders on Monday night was overshadowed by news that star wide receiver DJ Moore was hospitalized after the game.
According to the Bears, Moore will not fly back to Chicago with his team and was taken by ambulance to a local area hospital after the game for “precautionary medical attention.” The team confirmed he will stay overnight in Washington, D.C.
The Bears did not specify the reason why Moore was taken to the hospital and will provide an update on his condition Tuesday. He was never officially announced as an injured player who left the game, though he did come up slow and appeared in pain from a hit that happened during the first half.
Moore hauled in three catches for 42 yards and ran the ball twice for another 10 yards against the Commanders on Monday night.
His efforts contributed toward a come-from-behind victory for the Bears, who won on a game-winning 38-yard field goal as time expired against Washington, 25-24, thanks to recently-signed kicker Jake Moody, who stepped in for the injured Cairo Santos before the game.
