Did the Bears’ Darnell Wright just make the greatest catch of all time?

This offseason, the intensity of the Chicago Bears‘ OTAs and minicamp has been ramped up with head coach Ben Johnson running the show. We’ve seen clips of fired-up assistant coaches, the players have discussed the new attention to detail and accountability expected from the staff, and Johnson himself hasn’t shied away from getting after a player mid-practice.

But with mandatory minicamp coming to a close today, Johnson’s team was allowed to have some fun by letting the offensive linemen show off some other skills.

But the catch of the day and what may be the greatest catch by a right tackle ever caught on video was courtesy of Darnell Wright.

Wright’s focus to track the pass from backup quarterback Case Keenum, who I’m sure put the football towards the sideline so only his guy could grab it, and then leap and bring it down with one hand at 333 pounds, had to get Johnson’s mind racing with how best to incorporate Wright’s no longer hidden talent.

In his post-practice press conference, Johnson asked if he saw Wright’s snag, and he said with a grin, “Oh, I did. I did. I did.”
