The Chicago Bears kicked off the 2024 NFL Draft by selecting USC quarterback Caleb Williams with the No. 1 pick. Everyone has been expecting that to happen since January.
On Friday morning, Williams made it abundantly clear that he’s excited to play in the Windy City. He may have also teased his new jersey number.
“DAAAAA BEARSSSSSS!! We are otw,” Williams wrote on X.
Williams’ post on social media also included “#18” at the end of it. Perhaps that’s the number he’ll wear next season.
For those wondering, Williams wore No. 13 during his time at USC.
Although the Bears have struggled developing quarterbacks in the past, Williams raved about the team’s desire to win.
“(The Bears) want to win. That was the biggest and most important thing. That was really it. That’s what it really came down to, and that aligns with me,” Williams said, via Audacy. “I want to be around people that want to win, I want to be around people that want to achieve high because it only makes me better. That only holds me accountable, and it makes me excited to be around people like that. You’re who you are, but you also are the people that are closest to you. So having people around you that want to win only elevates you and your game.”
We’ll see if Williams can lead the Bears back to the promised land.
