Dallas Cowboys superstar edge rusher Micah Parsons has wanted a new contract for months now, and the disgruntled edge rusher has officially requested a trade. A first-round pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, the Penn State product quickly established himself as one of the game’s premier defenders. Making the Pro Bowl in all four seasons while earning First-Team All-Pro honors on two separate occasions, Parsons will likely receive a record-setting contract from one of the NFL’s 32 teams.
However, that team may not be the Cowboys. While ESPN’s Diana Russini reports Dallas doesn’t want to trade Micah Parsons, they may not have a choice. Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb already received market-setting deals, and the Cowboys are notorious for investing in mid-level talent like tight end Jake Ferguson. Something will have to give, and any of the following teams could give up a king’s ransom for Parsons.

Thank you Dallas

BREAKING: Micah Parsons Requests Trade From Dallas Cowboys
Possible Fits
Los Angeles Chargers
The Los Angeles Chargers should be all-in for the 2025 season. After making the playoffs in the first year of the Jim Harbaugh Era, the team loaded up on reinforcing the running game and offensive line. What they didn’t do, however, was find a proper replacement for Joey Bosa. Khalil Mack is still great, and a Micah Parsons trade would give the Chargers the league’s best pass-rushing duo. With these two complementing a strong offense, Los Angeles could overtake the Kansas City Chiefs in the division.
Chicago Bears
First-year head coach Ben Johnson has been one of the league’s most aggressive coaches throughout the offseason, rebuilding the offensive line with multiple trades and creating an environment to support quarterback Caleb Williams. Now, he needs to build a defense to compete in a loaded NFC North. A Micah Parsons trade will show this team means business and give them the talent to win the division and go on a deep playoff run.
Cincinnati Bengals
The Cincinnati Bengals and Dallas Cowboys could agree to swap their disgruntled pass rushers. Trey Hendrickson and the team are still miles apart on an extension, so perhaps the Bengals trade him and a pick to the Cowboys for a young superstar like Micah Parsons. Hendrickson will need a new contact of his own, but he shouldn’t receive the same amount of guaranteed money as the younger Parsons.
Carolina Panthers
The Carolina Panthers are in a position to be the breakout team of 2025. Former first-overall pick Bryce Young looked like the real deal last year, the offensive line remains one of the league’s best, and first-round pick Tetairoa McMillan is reportedly stealing the show in training camp. This offense could be good enough to compete in a weak NFC South, but a Micah Parsons trade could give this team the talent to go deep in the playoffs. Carolina has two promising young pass rushers in Nic Scourton and Princely Umanmielen, but a proven star like Parsons could shore this team’s biggest remaining weakness.
