Despite being sent to a new team, former Arizona Cardinal wide receiver Christian Kirk will likely be back on the trade block. According to a report, one source believes that since the Houston Texans got plenty of receivers in this year’s draft with a lot of upside, they could trade Kirk during the 2025 campaign. Before the draft this year, the Texans were in dire need of a replacement for Tank Dell after suffering a gruesome injury last season that will keep him out for the remainder of this upcoming year. Houston finally gets help, selecting Iowa State Jayden Higgins and Jaylin Noel, who will pair with Nico Collins in the slot.
It doesn’t give Kirk any long-term guarantee that he will be on this roster any more than a year at most. The Texans are still figuring out life after Dell in their offense, and they made a few quick decisions to salvage their receiver unit. Higgins and Noel could easily make Kirk seem out of place, so it shouldn’t be a surprise if the Texans try to trade the wide receiver to recoup what they gave up. Originally selected in the second round of the 2018 NFL Draft, the former Texas A&M product entered the league with plenty of upside to be the No. 1 wideout for any team, but injuries have slowly started to catch up to him in that process.
After suffering a season-ending collarbone injury last year, there’s still some chance a team could take a shot on him at least for a year to see if he can prove himself.

Breaking: Former Cardinals 5,100-Yard Playmaker Christian Kirk On Trade Block – 3 Logical Fits
Potential Destinations
Los Angeles Chargers
It’s hard to imagine this Los Angeles Chargers offense will be the same despite signing veteran Mike Williams and drafting Tre Harris. The Chargers have a promising culture change, but they need a true dynamic receiver to help 2024 draft pick Ladd McConkey in the slot. Quentin Johnston has been failing to meet expectations, and many should anticipate that the Chargers will likely trade him to a new roster to see if he fits elsewhere. However, the Chargers need a big push before they can call themselves postseason worthy, so perhaps, they could trade for Kirk to provide some relief if things get worse before they get better this upcoming season.
Kirk is no superstar, but the Chargers would be in a better place if Harris isn’t ready for full-time duties and McConkey could focus on the slant routes.
Baltimore Ravens
Meanwhile, the Ravens are going to need a wide receiver anyway if DeAndre Hopkins decides to retire after this season. Zay Flowers and Rashod Bateman are still expected to be the dynamic duo unless Bateman continues to be inconsistent. Either way, they need a long-term WR3, and Kirk could help in a reduced role for a couple of years before they draft one playmaker as a replacement.
New Orleans Saints
However, it shouldn’t surprise anyone if Chris Olave decides to request a trade. It’s been an awful offseason for the Saints, and the quarterback situation between Tyler Shough and Spencer Rattler doesn’t look promising. Kirk coming in could provide some much-needed relief to accommodate either Shough or Rattler throwing it in the aerial attack.
