Blockbuster Trade Proposal Sends Myles Garrett to the Bears

November 19, 2025 by Last Word On Pro Football

Emotions are running high in Chicago after the Chicago Bears took the lead in the NFC North with a 7-3 record. The offense looks revitalized under Ben Johnson, the culture is shifting in the right direction, and for the first time in years, Chicago feels like a team on the rise. Yet even with all that momentum, a glaring issue continues to hold the Bears back: a defense struggling to find consistency and lacking a true game-changing pass rusher. That’s why Bleacher Report’s latest trade proposal, one that sends Cleveland Browns superstar pass rusher Myles Garrett to Chicago, has fans buzzing.

Bleacher Report Proposes Blockbuster Trade Sending Myles Garrett to the Bears

The suggested deal is a massive one, with the Bears receiving Garrett in exchange for a haul of future draft capital.

  • 2026 first-round pick
  • 2026 second-round pick
  • 2027 first-round pick
  • 2027 fourth-round pick

It’s the kind of offer that would reshape both franchises. For Chicago, it would be a declaration that they mean business (similar to when the Green Bay Packers traded for Micah Parsons). For Cleveland, it would be a difficult decision to make, but a chance to rebuild using a plethora of top draft picks.

Myles Garrett is Worth It

Cleveland Browns defensive end Myles Garrett (95) celebrates after sacking Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow (9) during the second half of an NFL football game at Huntington Bank Field, Sept. 7, 2025, in Cleveland, Ohio.

Anytime a team potentially has a chance to add a 6’4″, 272-pound freak of nature, you go for it. Garrett is Hall of Fame-bound, with 10 sacks in his last three games. How insane is it to see a player amass 10 sacks in just three games?

He’s also the first player in NFL history with 12+ sacks in six-straight seasons.  Plus, for those who may be worried if he’s injury prone, he’s not. Garrett has played in at least 10 games every season since entering the league in 2017.

The one knock on Garrett is his age. He’ll be 30 by the time next season starts, which adds risk to making a trade of this caliber.

A High Cost, But a Move That Could Propel the Bears to New Heights

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Bears already attempted to trade for Garrett during this year’s NFL trade deadline, with Schefter describing the offer as an “aggressive” one.

If the Bears want to take this pursuit to the next level, Bleacher Report’s idea of sending two first-round picks along with a Day 2 and Day 3 selection is likely the type of package required to get Cleveland’s attention. For most teams, that price may seem excessive given their situations, but the Bears are in a unique situation. They have a head coach on the rise, an offense that has the firepower to put up points against the toughest of defenses, and a roster that is one superstar away from legitimate Super Bowl contention.

Acquiring a perennial All-Pro like Garrett would not only patch their biggest weakness on defense but also help the Bears stay in the playoff picture for years to come.

The question isn’t whether the Bears are interested in trading for Garrett; it’s whether the Browns are willing to deal away their star player.
