For what would have been just the third time in franchise history, the Chicago Bears will NOT be playing football on Christmas day despite speculation otherwise!

Many of you will be excited. My eldest daughter, however will be disappointed but she is early in her Bears fandom and must get used to disappointment like the rest of us. So, you are free to enjoy watching the kids play with their new toys, crush some cinnamon twists (or whatever your favorite holiday cookie is) and grab some eggnog while you carry on with your traditional Christmas Day festivities.
This would have been just the third ever game played on the holiday in Franchise history, with both previous games played against the rival Green Bay Packers, where each team won a game.

If you ask me, the NFL missed an opportunity with this one. With both teams playing a week prior, the Commanders vs. Bears would have been must see TV. Though these two teams are rumored to battle on Monday Night Football earlier in the season, these teams appear to have the ingredients for what could be one of the league’s best conference rivalries. Yes, even better than your favorite Christmas cookie recipe featuring two of the league’s best and youngest QBs with new coaches and talent all around them.
How do you feel that the Bears will not be playing on Christmas? What are your overall thoughts of your favorite team playing on national Holidays? Sound off below! Did the NFL actually do Da Bears a solid?? Or miss a chance for some more publicity for two of the leagues best young players?
Tune in for the rest of the schedule reveal tonight, and be sure to join Ryan Droste and myself this evening on Bears Over Beers, where we dissect the entire schedule and make predictions!
