Chicago Bears wide receiver DJ Moore was taken after Monday Night’s win against the Washington Commanders to the hospital in an ambulance, where he remained overnight.
The team announced that Moore was staying for “precautionary medical attention” and has now provided another update on the star receiver.

Head coach Ben Johnson told ESPN Chicago on Tuesday that Moore was dealing with a groin injury.
“I think we got some good news in that regard… I think he’ll be day-to-day going forward,” Johnson said. “It was a groin deal that he was dealing with, but I think we’re going to be ok.”
Moore, who appeared in 93.8 percent of the team’s offensive snaps in the game against the Commanders, battled through his injury and played till the end of the game. He finished the game with three catches for 42 yards and two rushes for 10 yards on the ground.

Despite the lack of touches, Moore’s impact was vital throughout the game. He was a key blocker on multiple big plays and was used as a decoy to open up the field for D’Andre Swift, Rome Odunze, and Luther Burden III. It’s good news that Moore is day-to-day, and the hope is that he can recover A.S.A.P.
Moore’s Role Moving Forward

Once Moore fully recovers and is back on the field for the Bears, they have to find more ways to get the ball in his hands. In five games this season, Moore has just 19 catches for 215 yards, one touchdown, and eight carries for 25 yards.
It’s good that the Bears are using him both as a receiver and in the backfield, but the lack of targets is concerning. Olamide Zaccheaus, whom the Bears signed this offseason, currently has more targets (28) than Moore (26). It just feels like a waste of a four-year, $110 million extension if the team is not going to use one of their best offensive weapons.
Moore commented earlier in the season on his lack of targets, saying, “Do I want mine. Of course. Everybody wants their 100-yard game.” However, he understands that there are more mouths to feed in Chicago’s offense, and he needs to be ready for any opportunities that come his way.
“At the same time, whoever’s going off, we’ve just gotta feed off their energy. When your number gets called, you’ve just gotta do it.”
This should be a reminder for the Bears to step back and evaluate how they are using Moore on offense. If the team wants to be more successful going forward, it starts with incorporating one of their most experienced wideouts with more designed plays and route concepts.
