Another lineman! Give us your grade for this pick in the poll below.
With the 62nd pick in the second round of the 2025 NFL Draft, the Chicago Bears have selected Shemar Turner, defensive tackle from Texas A&M.
The Bears went back to back in the trenches by picking the 6’3’’, 290-pound Turner, who may have the athleticism and length to kick out to the edge in Dennis Allen’s defense. He’ll add some more beef to Chicago’s revamped defensive line, which also added free agents Grady Jarrett (DT) and Dayo Odeyingbo (DE).
The second sentence in Lance Zierlein’s NFL.com scouting report should be enough to excite Bears fans: “Turner plays with unlimited activity and a heavy dose of violence.”
Turner was Jacob Infante’s 61st-ranked player on his big board, so Chicago getting him at 62 is right in line with that.
Unless the Bears trade again, their night is done. Next up, pick 109 in the fourth round tomorrow
We’ll record an immediate reaction podcast about the selection, so check that out right here as soon as it publishes from our 2nd City Gridiron channels.
