An Austin neighborhood man was charged with attempt murder after he was identified as the driver who struck and injured an officer earlier in May on the West Side, Chicago police said.
Malcolm Harris, 40, of the 200 block of North Central Avenue was arrested May 19 near his residence after he was identified as the person who struck and injured an officer May 3 while driving in the 4700 block of West Madison Street, police said.
He was charged with one count of attempt murder and one count of aggravated battery.
He was scheduled to appear at a detention hearing Wednesday.
