3 Undrafted Free Agents Who Could Make Tampa Bay Buccaneers 53-Man Roster

May 15, 2025 by Last Word On Pro Football

Desmond Watson, defensive tackle, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Tampa Bay Buccaneers General Manager Jason Licht has done an incredible job building the roster, not only through the draft but also by signing under-the-radar UDFAs who end up making a big impact on the team. Players like Cameron Brate and Adam Humphries have been productive players as undrafted free agents for the Buccaneers in the past, and recently, Christian Izien has emerged as the team’s latest hidden gem as a UDFA. This year’s UDFA class has a few prospects who could potentially make the roster and have a similar impact. Here are three UDFAs who could make the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 53-man roster.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers UDFAs Who Could Make An Impact On The Team in 2025

IOL Jake Majors, Texas

Majors is an experienced player who holds the all-time Texas program record for most career starts with 56 starts in college. He is a high-IQ player and a great communicator with incredible processing speed. He does a terrific job identifying stunts, twists, and blitzes. Majors is a consistent, tough, and technically refined football player who allowed just one sack and four QB hits in his last three seasons in college. He also offers great intangibles and was a 2024 William V. Campbell Trophy finalist and Jason Witten Collegiate Man of the Year Award semifinalist.

Majors lacks great physical traits. He does not have the ideal size, length, power, and positional versatility, which could hurt his chances at making the team. However, his experience, leadership, and ability to be a high-floor ready to go from day one player could help him earn a spot as a highly trusted backup center with the potential to possibly even be a decent starting center.

Jake Majors Scouting Report

IDL Desmond Watson, Florida

At 6-foot-6 and 464 pounds, Watson is the heaviest player in NFL history. Watson’s rare size makes him an intriguing prospect. With his strength and frame, Watson is a dominant run stopper who consistently disrupts the run game and forces offenses to double team him. Watson could also offer some help in other phases of the game. During the Gasparilla Bowl versus Tulane, he showed with his great strength and power that he could potentially be a valuable player in short-yardage situations on offense, and he has some special-teams experience as well. He lacks great speed and agility and is very limited as a pass rusher. Yet, with his size and power, he has a significant upside as an incredibly productive early-downs run stopper and short-yardage situation defender for the Buccaneers if he makes the 53-man roster.

LB John Bullock, Nebraska

Bullock is an undersized player who lacks great athletic ability. Yet, he was a very productive linebacker for Nebraska over the last two seasons, and earned Honorable Mention All-Big Ten honors in 2024 with 70 tackles, ten tackles for loss, four sacks, and three forced turnovers. Bullock is a smart and high-effort football player who started his college career as a walk-on and developed into one of the team’s leaders and most productive defensive players. Bullock may not have a high ceiling, but linebacker is still one of the weaker positions on the Buccaneers roster, and Bullock provides a ton of special-teams experience that could help him earn a role as a special-teams ace and depth linebacker on the team.
