Zach LaVine to Undergo Season-Ending Surgery, Misses Trade Deadline

Nobody saw this one coming ahead of next week’s trade deadline.

According to NBA insider Shams Charania, “Bulls say Zach LaVine, in consultation with team and Klutch Sports Group, has elected to undergo season-ending surgery on his right foot.”

LaVine had been out since Jan. 18 with what was originally being reported as an ankle sprain. Here’s some of how the NBA world reacted to the news over the weekend:

“Zach LaVine is expected to have surgery during the upcoming week and miss a total of 4-to-6 months,” Charania added.

“Wow no LaVine trade at the deadline now,” another person said. “The Bulls should still 100% move DeRozan and should move Caruso if they get a good offer. Trade LaVine this offseason.”
