CHICAGO (WGN) — The Chicago Bulls are resigning point guard Tre Jones to a multi-year contract, according to ESPN’s Shams Charania.
Charania reports Jones has agreed to a three-year, $24 million deal to return to the Bulls, sources told him and ESPN. He was an unrestricted free agent heading into this offseason.
After coming over in the three-team trade that sent Zach LaVine and three first-round picks to the Sacramento Kings and De’Aaron Fox to the San Antonio Spurs, Jones averaged 11.5 points, 4.9 assists and 1.1 steals per game over 18 contests in a Chicago uniform.
The former Duke Blue Devil was also incredibly efficient after joining the Bulls. Jones shot 57.2% from the field and an even 50% from beyond the 3-point stripe on 25.3 minutes and 8.1 field goal attempts per game.
