The Miami Heat have their biggest game of the year tomorrow as they take on the Chicago Bulls in the play-in tournament with the No. 8 playoff seed on the line. But will the Heat have all-world forward Jimmy Butler for the game?
Sadly, the answer is a decisive no. Taking to X on Thursday, the Heat announced that Butler has been ruled out of tomorrow’s game with a right MCL sprain. Butler suffered the injury against the Philadelphia 76ers after scoring 19 points in what was ultimately a 105-104 loss. Starting guard Terry Rozier was also ruled out.
“#CHIvsMIA INJURY UPDATE: Jimmy Butler (right MCL sprain) and Terry Rozier (neck) have both been ruled out of tomorrow night’s play-in game vs the Bulls,” the team wrote.
As you might imagine, Heat fans are understandably devastated by this announcement. Just about everyone agrees that their playoff hopes are nearly gone with both Butler and Rozier gone.
“See yall next season,” one user lamented.
“No Jimmy Butler and Rozier with the playoffs on the line, it’s been a fun ride Heat Nation. That inefficient merchant Herro is going to shoot us out the game again,” wrote another.
“its honestly hilarious how i put myself through watching 76/82 games of this heat team just for us to not even be given a chance what a waste of a season,” a third user wrote.
Things definitely look bleak for the Heat heading into tomorrow’s game. And with the way the Bulls took apart the Atlanta Hawks in their last game, there’s every reason for the Heat to be concerned.
