The Chicago Bulls and restricted free agent Josh Giddey continue to have good dialogue on a new contract. However, Giddey has not moved off his desire for a contract that averages $30 million per year.
Giddey wants to be in the same range contract that Jalen Suggs signed with the Orlando Magic or Jalen Johnson signed with the Atlanta Hawks last offseason. The Magic frontloaded Suggs’ deal, while Johnson’s deal came in at a flat $30 million per season.
Giddey put together one of his best all-around seasons with the Bulls last year. The 6-foot-8 guard/forward averaged 14.6 points, 8.1 rebounds, 7.2 assists and 1.2 steals per game. Giddey also improved as a shooter, hitting 37.8% of his four three-point attempts per game.
