Despite a few conversations between the two sides, the Golden State Warriors have generated no real traction toward a deal with restricted free agent Jonathan Kuminga in recent days and, as anticipated, he is expected to explore the market when it opens at 3 p.m. PT on Monday afternoon, league sources told The Athletic. The Miami Heat and Chicago Bulls remain the two likeliest outside suitors, league sources said.

I recommend Warriors fans revisit this mock offseason @SamQuinnCBS and I did before free agency officially begins.
We show how a Jonathan Kuminga sign and trade would work, how BYC factors in, and examples of trades that could bring in multiple players.

Wrote about Horford to GSW earlier today. It’s going to be a tight squeeze under the 2nd apron if they keep Kuminga, but they can do it. They have a short window to win with Curry, Butler, Green so not surprised to see those 4 coming together. pic.x.com/KxyTszTTt0 – 3:15 PM

Duncan Robinson declined his $20M early termination option for free agency. He can return to Miami on a new deal, sign elsewhere, or be part of a sign-&-trade. As I’ve reported on @hoopshype, Miami is considering a Jonathan Kuminga pursuit, which would need to be a sign-&-trade. – 2:26 PM

The Golden State Warriors officially tendered Jonathan Kuminga a $7.9 million qualifying offer which will make the forward a restricted free agent as expected, sources confirmed. Kuminga, the No. 7 pick in the 2021 draft, is a major priority for the Warriors entering free agency, which begins on June 30. The Brooklyn Nets are the only team that can offer Kuminga a starting salary of $20 million or more according to ESPN’s Bobby Marks. The Warriors have the right to match any offer and can explore sign-and-trade options as well. -via ESPN / June 28, 2025
