Gonzaga Lands Top-40 Recruit in 2026 Class

October 26, 2025 by Last Word On Pro Basketball

Gonzaga just landed a top-40 recruit for their 2026 class. A promising small forward will be playing in Spokane for the 2026-27 season.

Gonzaga Lands Top-40 Recruit in 2026 Class

The last few weeks have been quite chaotic for the Gonzaga Bulldogs. Key transfer Tyon Grant-Foster is currently in the process of trying to gain eligibility for this upcoming season. While Gonzaga continues to await a resolution, they picked up a major win on the recruiting trail. This weekend, Luca Foster announced his decision to play for the Gonzaga Bulldogs. Foster now becomes the top recruit of Gonzaga’s 2026 class amongst a solid group of four-stars.

Originally from Wayne, Pennsylvania, Luca Foster will play his senior season of high school basketball at Link Academy in Branson, Missouri. Link Academy has produced multiple NBA talents, including Jordan Walsh and the #6 overall pick in this year’s NBA Draft, Tre Johnson. Foster will look to make an instant impact for the Bulldogs and eventually join the pipeline of NBA players from Link Academy. Foster’s stock recently started to grow, and a big year at Link Academy should continue to build his momentum.

Foster drew significant interest from other big schools, such as Villanova, Georgetown, and Michigan. Ultimately, he went with the Bulldogs following a recent visit to Spokane. Foster cited the opportunity to play for legendary coach Mark Few and develop into an NBA player. Gonzaga has produced multiple successful NBA players in recent seasons, including champion Chet Holmgren and key contributors such as Jalen Suggs and Andrew Nembhard.

Foster was highly coveted because of his offensive skillset

Luca Foster drew significant buzz due to his circuit performances at Peach Jam the last two years. Foster was also a standout player on the EYBL circuit, playing for Team Final. Over the summer, Foster averaged 15.4 points and 3.2 rebounds per game and was named to the All-Breakout team. The last two years have shown that Foster is one of the best offensive players of the entire 2026 recruiting class.

Listed at 6-foot-5 and 185 pounds, Foster has an exciting mix of size and athleticism that has allowed him to be a dangerous scorer in transition. He has also grown significantly as a shooter, and the upcoming season will be telling about if he can become an elite shooter in the 2026 class. Scouting reports say that Foster’s main offensive weakness is his ball handling (h/t Rivals). However, given his athleticism and growth as a shooter, there is a strong chance he develops into a dangerous two-way player at the collegiate level.

The Last Word

Despite a national championship eluding Mark Few, Gonzaga is a consistent mainstay in the NCAA tournament and has grown into a reliable NBA pipeline recently. This upcoming season largely hinges on when Tyon Grant-Foster can gain eligibility to play. Regardless, Gonzaga is continuing to fill out their 2026 class with intriguing offensive upside. Luca Foster will have the opportunity to lead the 2026 class and potentially one day be the next Gonzaga star to play in the NBA.
