The Chicago Bulls are confident Lonzo Ball will play next season, but are not sure when that will happen.
Ball last played on Jan. 14, 2022 when he tore his meniscus. Ball has undergone a number of surgeries, culminating in a meniscus transplant.
“There was no more meniscus left, and bone on bone was rubbing,” Ball said. “The cartilage was gone and the bone was messed up, so I had to get a new meniscus from a donor. I had to get a bone allograft, and I had to get some new cartilage put in as well.”
Ball first suffered a meniscus tear in 2018.
The Bulls signed Ball to a four-year, $80 million deal in 2021.
